Anne & Mike’s Richmond, North Yorkshire Wedding Blog.

Welcome all to our latest blog.

So, what can we say about Anne & Mike apart from what a fantastic laid back couple they are. Anne & Mike originally got in touch with us after seeing our “Wedding Photographers Shoot Their Own Wedding” blog on Britains top wedding blog “Brides Up North” and after a short Skype call they decided to book us their and then which was fantastic. Our first real life meeting though was for their pre-wedding shoot where they made the trip down from Middlesborough. From the off we knew they were a great couple and the pre-shoot ended in having a pint at the local pub! After hearing more about their day we were totally excited to be part of it and knew we would be left to our own devices to do what we do best.

So, the big day came and we set off for the one hour thirty minute journey up to Richmond. We were to meet at the Castle House B&B right in the centre to start the bridal preps. As we arrived the bridal party were finishing their breakfast and preparing for the day ahead. In great spirits and to a warm welcome we proceeded to get some great shots.

After a while it was time to head over to the church where they were to be married. This was only a short distance away and we were met by Mike and his Groomsmen who were also very warm welcoming and ready to get some shots. With guests also arriving and getting them all so important candid shots it was time for the ceremony which went ace followed by some group shots outside.

After this we headed over to Mike’s parents house where they had a huge marquee set up in the back field. They had chosen an amazing rustic/vintage feel to their decorations and people relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.

After speeches and more relaxing it was time to cut the cake, get on with the first dance and really get the party started.

We can’t thank Anne and Mike enough for being so cool with us an hopefully see you both in the future.

Big thanks and big congrats to the both of you.

So we thought after being in our new{ish} office/studio since June last year we’d better show it off a little. Especially as we’ve now fully finished decorating and adding our stamp to the place. We really do feel like we’ve fallen on our feet by getting hold of this studio which really gives off the vibe we’ve always wanted which also matches our photography. This means style, quality and giving our bride and grooms peace of mind that they know they can always find us to discuss their day.

The building is 200 years old and has been fully refurbished giving Elsecar Heritage Centre an added wow factor to its already amazing surroundings. Elsecar Heritage Centre lies in the heart of Elsecar village which is conveniently accessible from the M1 junction 35 or 36. The Heritage Centre has the added bonus of 2 large car parks which attracts many visitors all through the week to the many shops and cafes. Elsecar Heritage Centre hosts regular antique and craft fayres which are extremely popular and create a real buzz around the place.

After moving here in June we have been warmly greeted by our surrounding businesses which have made us feel right at home.

Above our studio in the eves of the building is our very good friends The White Yard Bridal Boutique. This spacious boutique stocks everything from designer dresses, veils, shoes, tiara’s and the most stylish and modern selection of mens wear. Click here to contact.

Katie & Luke’s Hemswell Court, Wedding Photography Blog.

So, a beautiful winter wedding. Of course and we wouldn’t have expected anything less from Katie & Luke. You know that you’ve got it good when your bride and groom give you pretty much free reign on what you tell them to do and Katie & Luke were up for creating some special shots.

From the moment they booked over a year ago we knew we were going to get on great and have a fantastic time being their wedding photographers!

We started the day in their home town of Retford, Nottinghamshire to shoot the bridal preps. At Katie’s parents house we were welcomed in with open arms and set free to get the shots we needed. Katie looked calm as anything and raring to go surrounded with her bridesmaids and family. We did quickly shoot round to Katie & Luke’s house where Luke was with his men and also calm as a cucumber whilst they prepared for the day ahead.

We soon left after Katie was ready and we were off to All Hallows Church, Retford, a 13th century church with great character. After a lovely service and group shots outside in the cool crisp winter air it was time to take the 40 minute journey over to Helswell Court in Lincolnshire for their wedding breakfast and evening reception. We had some amazing photographic opportunities around the grounds and just to add to the atmosphere a heavy fog lingered in the air.

The rest of the evening went perfectly as to be expected and we both wish Katie and Luke all the best and a massive congratulations.

Thank you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers.

Mel & Grace’s Mosborough Hall, Sheffield Wedding Photography Blog.

Well, it seems a lifetime ago now since the wedding of Mel & Grace at Mosborough Hall in Sheffield. What a great day we had……. and we knew this was going to happen all along.

I’ve known Mel for a fair few years now and when they booked us as their wedding photographers we were pretty chuffed. To be asked to photograph any wedding is a total privilege and all the more special as an old friend.

We arrived at Mosborough Hall nice and early to grab some special preparation shots in both Mel & Grace’s rooms making sure we shot all the important details capturing those candid moments. Both were pretty chilled out and couldn’t wait to get the day started. Once dressed and ready they looked fantastic and made their way towards the Chatsworth room for their ceremony. As an extra surprise for their guest they had arranged a band to play their walk down the isle songs.

The ceremony was perfect with smiles and tears from the front to the back of the room and smiles were to carry on for the rest of the day.

We dropped lucky with the weather and cracked on with the group shots and Mel and Grace showed their true style by creating some fantastic personal shots.

The rest of the day went perfectly and we met so many of their fantastic family and friends who made us all feel unbelievably welcome but there was still one more event to come which was the first dance…….. and did they pull it off…..or course and in style.

We both would like to wish Mel & Grace all the best for the future and a massive thanks again for choosing us to be your wedding photographers.

Lisa & Rob’s London Engagement Shoot Blog. Wedding Photography.

Lisa & Rob’s London Engagement Shoot Blog. Wedding Photography.

Well the time had finally arrived to take a trip down to London for Lisa & Rob’s engagement shoot. It had been in the planning for some time and what an opportunity we have been given to shoot around some of the most amazing landmarks and buildings available.

We woke around 6am to shoot over to Doncaster to catch the 7:45 train bound for Kings Cross, London where we had arranged to be picked up by Lisa & Rob in a classic Mini. Now this isn’t just any ordinary Mini, this is a Mini from London’s best sight-seeing tour Small Car BIG CITY. This company is owned by Rob & Lisa so we had the privilege of being transported around all day with the added sight-seeing tour knowledge thrown in as we passed London’s finest sights. I’m quite a curious person myself so was firing off questions about nearly every building we passed which Rob knew the answer to. Great stuff!

Our first port of call was to be one of London’s finest Hotels, The Rosewood Hotel. They had arranged for us to use the fantastic and quirky bar area more commonly known as “Scarfes Bar”

With large windows running down one side of the bar and an array of mixed furniture our creative juices were flowing. We had limited time but managed to shoot many images in a variety of ways.

As the clock struck eleven we needed to be on our way to the next location, Trinity House. Now I didn’t really know much of Trinity House but had heard the name before. This beautiful building is the home of a charity dedicated to safeguarding shipping and seafarers which has been serving mariners since 1514. Amazing! Not only was this an amazing building but the artwork within was something spectacular. Given a choice of rooms we settled upon the largest, flanked by an original Elizabeth the 1st and Henry the 8th painting we set to work as seen below. Being given free reign and vip access to buildings is pretty much all a photographer could ask for.

Next off after a spot of lunch it was time to scale the height of the “Walkie Talkie” building and rise up to the “Sky Garden”. After being searched and scanned we headed up the lift to one of the most amazing views London has to offer. There is not really much more we can say apart from look at the shots below to get the best idea of how amazing it really is. It doesn’t take much to get us excited anyway to this really got us going.

After these three locations we headed to Leadenhall Market for a little christmassy touch which is also very close to “The Gherkin” then followed by a Mini sight-seeing tour back to Kings Cross.

We both want to thank Lisa & Rob for such an amazing day and we can’t wait to be shooting your wedding next year. Thank you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers.

From the first moment we met a year ago we knew this was going to be one amazing wedding. Josie and Bruce knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding day and were prepared to put in the hard work to make it fantastic……and they certainly pulled it off.

They were to be married in the most amazing of venues, Sledmere House in Driffield East Yorkshire. The ceremony was to be held in the main Sledmere House then over the road to the barn for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. We were shown pictures of the barn before Josie and Bruce had put their mark on the place and to say they had their work cut out would be an understatement but in line with there vision and excitement they turned the place into something unforgettable.

We first met with Josie in her bridal preps. Always unsure how nervous a bride may be, we were met with a very calm and excited Josie. Herself and her bridesmaids getting their final hair and makeup touches done while we shot away capturing some natural moments.

We had news that the boys had arrived so we shot over to get some great groomsman pics.Again all the groomsmen were in great spirits and it was great to meet them all. The wind was blowing a little heavy at this point but the skies were clearing. Today was going to be a good day!

Before we knew it, it was almost time for the ceremony. Guests were arriving and all systems were go. Bruce had the usual slight apprehensive look upon his face as he stood at the front of the ceremony room but as soon as he saw his wife to be, you could see him relax instantly.

The ceremony went without a hitch, apart from the “awful husband” incident!! but this only fuelled what was to be a great light hearted day. Leaving the ceremony room as husband and wife, in true Sledmere House tradition the confetti fell over them as they walked hand in hand down the beautiful staircase.

After group shots and making sure we got them some amazing bride and groom photography everyone headed over to the barn for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

The evening went perfect with the cutting of the cake and a first dance followed by the most amazing dance show.

So as we fully expected, Josie & Bruce pulled it off. One amazing day was had by everyone and we would like to thank Josie and Bruce for making us feel so welcome. Big congratulations to you both and we can’t wait to see you both to get your album designed.

Hello All.

November saw us shooting at Hazlewood Castle near York. An overcast cold day provided a moody backdrop to one of Yorkshires most romantic wedding venues.

Helen & Simon had an amazing day planned and included an evening surprise for their guests.

We started off our day with Helen for her bridal preps. Her gorgeous dress hung on the mirror was all we needed to start our detailed shots. All bridesmaids were ready for action and did a great job of keeping Helen calm. As well as the bridal preps we also visited the grooms room to also get some boys preps. The dress reveal to the father of the bride was soon to follow which gave some great shots on the antique staircase. A pre-planned holding of hands round a corner proved to be a magical moment. All silent with grinning from ear to ear from both bride and groom.

The ceremony included all of around 20 guests in one of Hazlewood Castles most magical rooms. A reading from their little boy Alfie was perfect too.

After the ceremony we managed a great confetti shot in front of the main building then off for the bride and grooms personal images. Although cold and windy the excitement still grew for the chance to create some great memories for them both.

After speeches and cake cutting it was time to welcome their evening guests for their evening blessing which was to take place in Hazlewood Castles very own adjoined chapel at 19:15.

With over a hundred evening guests having arrived the blessing went with a bang. An amazing vicar gave us the run of the chapel to shoot as we wished, even calling us to the very front to make sure we got the kissing shot.

The rest of the night was perfect and we both would like to wish Helen & Simon all the best for their future and a big thank you for making us feel so welcome all day.

Congratulations to you both.

Nick & Nic.

Kim & Matt’s Mosborough Hall, Sheffield, Wedding Photography Blog.

Kim & Matt’s Mosborough Hall, Sheffield, Wedding Photography Blog.

Today was the big day of Kim and Matt. We had been looking forward to shooting there big day as they are such a fun couple. The weather forecast was spot on today as we started the day with rain. We knew the sun was going to make an early afternoon appearance so this kept our spirits high! We arrived at Mosborough Hall first thing to meet with Kim and the bridal party to begin the bridal preps. Mosborough hall is a fabulous venue with so much to offer! With it’s charm and unique qualities it makes the perfect wedding venue choice. Kim and the girls made us really feel welcome as we continued with the bridal preps and we had such a giggle with them. We shortly met with Matt and his groomsmen and got creative indoors due to the wet weather.

The ceremony took place in the Chatsworth building. The building is stunning and is so secluded and private. Kim looked absolutely beautiful and you could almost hear gasps of excitement as she walked down the aisle to her groom. After the ceremony we headed outside to start with the group shots. The rain had stopped and everyone was enjoying the sun, drinks and canapes! We were thrilled to spend time with Kim and Matt creating some fantastic images around the grounds of Mosborough Hall. The guests headed inside to enjoy a three course wedding breakfast followed by the speeches. We were all mesmerized by magician Afro Magic who wowed everyone!

As the evening party started we managed a mini night shoot which we love to do as you can really start getting creative. We had such a fantastic day with Kim, Matt and all there family and friends. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.
